Photo analysis
When the user starts a song, and only then, the selected photo goes to OpenAI for visual scene analysis: composition, colors, people, place and mood.
Lyric generation
OpenAI models write original, thematic lyrics matched to the photo's content and the user's optional keywords, plus a title and a style brief.
Audio creation
Suno composes and produces the full audio with vocals and backing. It receives only the derived inputs (lyrics, title, style), never the photo.

- It starts from a photo, not a prompt. Most AI music tools ask users to describe a song in words; SnapSong reads the scene in a picture and composes an original song, with vocals and lyrics, that matches the emotion of the image.

The story
One photo, one song. That is the whole idea.
My name is Henrique Velloso, and SnapSong was born from a simple idea: what if every photo had a soundtrack? We take hundreds of photos, of sunsets, road trips, people we love, random beautiful moments, and they stay silent. I wanted to change that.
As a three-time WWDC Scholarship winner (2015, 2017 and 2018) and an Apple Developer Academy alumnus (BEPiD 2015, one of the first cohorts worldwide), I have been building for Apple platforms for over a decade. One of the core lessons from the Academy has always stayed with me: build something that solves a real problem or makes someone's life easier. With SnapSong I am applying exactly that, making music creation accessible to anyone, even people who have never touched an instrument or read a single note.
SnapSong is not a tool for musicians. It is for everyone: your mom at a birthday party, a friend on a road trip, a kid pointing the camera at their dog. Anyone can create and own their song, fast and simple, without understanding anything about music. One photo, and they have a real song, with vocals, lyrics and a melody that actually matches the moment.
No instruments needed. No musical training. No complicated UI. Just pick a photo. That is it. That is the whole story.
